🍅 Pomodoro Timer (Pomodoro Technique)
25:00
Work Session
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The word Pomodoro means tomato in Italian — named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he first used.
🔹 How It Works
- Pick a task you want to work on.
- Set the timer for 25 minutes (one "Pomodoro").
- Work with full focus until the timer rings.
- Take a short 5-minute break.
- Every 4 Pomodoros, take a longer break (15–30 minutes).
🔹 Why It’s Useful
- ✅ Fights procrastination
- ✅ Boosts focus & productivity
- ✅ Prevents burnout by enforcing breaks
- ✅ Helps track how much time tasks really take
- ✅ Simple and flexible — works for studying, working, writing, coding, etc.
🔹 Example Day with Pomodoro
- Work on report → 25 min
- Break → 5 min
- Repeat 4 times → take a long 20-min break
So basically, a Pomodoro Timer is just a tool that automates this cycle of work & breaks, so you don’t have to track time manually. ⏳
