25:00

Work Session

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The word Pomodoro means tomato in Italian — named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he first used.

🔹 How It Works

  • Pick a task you want to work on.
  • Set the timer for 25 minutes (one "Pomodoro").
  • Work with full focus until the timer rings.
  • Take a short 5-minute break.
  • Every 4 Pomodoros, take a longer break (15–30 minutes).

🔹 Why It’s Useful

  • ✅ Fights procrastination
  • ✅ Boosts focus & productivity
  • ✅ Prevents burnout by enforcing breaks
  • ✅ Helps track how much time tasks really take
  • ✅ Simple and flexible — works for studying, working, writing, coding, etc.

🔹 Example Day with Pomodoro

  • Work on report → 25 min
  • Break → 5 min
  • Repeat 4 times → take a long 20-min break

So basically, a Pomodoro Timer is just a tool that automates this cycle of work & breaks, so you don’t have to track time manually. ⏳
